Under Chief Minister Teerthyatra Scheme, the 81st train departed from Delhi to Dwarkadhish on Thursday with 780 elderly individuals. Prior to the journey, a devotional evening was organized for all pilgrims at Thyagaraj Stadium. MLA Madan Lal and Durgesh Pathak arrived here, met with the pilgrims, and handed over the journey tickets and kits.

MLA Durgesh Pathak said, ‘I would like to express gratitude on behalf of all the elderly residents of Delhi to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who regards all of Delhi’s elderly as his own parents and, while fulfilling the role of a caregiver, is arranging pilgrimages for the elderly in Delhi.

He said that in Shravan Kumar’s role for the elderly in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sent more than 77,000 senior citizens on pilgrimage through 80 trains from Delhi so far. He has vowed that regardless of the obstacles, the pilgrimage journey for the elderly will not stop, and every elderly resident of Delhi will have the opportunity to go on a pilgrimage.

On this occasion, he extended his best wishes to the pilgrims for their journey and appealed to them, saying that during the pilgrimage, they should have a good darshan and also pray to Lord Shri Krishna for the progress and prosperity of the nation and Delhi.

Under the Chief Minister Teerthyatra Scheme, the Delhi government has been organizing pilgrimages for its elderly residents to various pilgrimage sites across the country for the past two to three years. In this series, on Thursday evening, a train departed from Safdarjung Railway Station for Shri Dwarkadhish. Prior to this, the Delhi government arranged a devotional evening at Thyagaraj Stadium. The aim was to provide pilgrims with an opportunity to connect with fellow travelers going on a spiritual journey and to find inner peace.

MLA Madan Lal stated that it is the fortune of Delhi’s residents that they have Arvind Kejriwal as their son, who has taken the responsibility to ensure that every elderly resident of Delhi goes on a pilgrimage. While fulfilling the role of Shravan Kumar, he has sent more than 77,000 senior citizens on a pilgrimage journey.

It is to be noted that under this plan, the Kejriwal government sends pilgrims by AC trains, books AC hotels for them, arranges timely meals, and ensures sightseeing arrangements. It does not let any situation arise where the elderly have to face any issues. The Kejriwal government ensures that all facilities are in place throughout the entire journey for the elderly.

The Delhi government facilitates pilgrimages to Rameshwaram, Dwarkadhish, Somnath, Nageshwar, Jagannath Puri, Baba Mahakal, Shirdi, Kashi Vishwanath, Tirupati Balaji, Ayodhya, Mata Vaishno Devi, Pushkar, Fatehpur Sikri, Golden Temple in Amritsar, Kartarpur Sahib, Mathura-Vrindavan, and Haridwar at their own expense. Eligible travelers can choose their preferred pilgrimage destinations.

To participate in these journeys, pilgrims apply through an online portal. The Delhi government arranges comfortable train travel, transportation to and from the railway station, and local travel. Pilgrims stay in good hotels, and receive meals and a kit with essential items for their convenience during the journey.

Under the Delhi government’s Chief Minister’s pilgrimage plan, more than 77,000 pilgrims have undertaken journeys to various pilgrimage sites across the country through 80 trains so far. As part of this plan, on Thursday, the 81st pilgrimage train departed for Dwarkadhish with 780 elderly individuals from Delhi.
