A new start to provide admission to children from Economically Weaker Sections(EWS)
The Aam Aadmi Party, with the help of its volunteers and a couple of NGOs, has made a new start to encourage admission of children belonging to Economically Weaker Sections, EWS, into schools. A meeting in relation to this step was conducted at the party office in Connaught Place.
After this meeting, volunteer Praveen Deshmukh, pioneer of this project, said that a coordinator will be appointed in every Constituency to execute this plan. Every coordinator is assigned the responsibility to appoint one representative for each ward in their constituency to identify EWS children. The ward representative will identify children in this category and hand over a list of the same to his/her coordinator. Following this, the coordinator and the representative will help the children to file forms and related paper work and will ensure their admission to schools. Some NGOs will also be invited to aid this process. Many NGOs and seventy coordinators were present at the meeting.
